Development

To start your Phoenix server:

• Install Elixir / Node / Erlang using asdf as specified in .tool-versions
• Start Local Postgres for example using Docker

  docker run \
  --restart always \                                                                  
  --name postgres \
  -v /usr/local/opt/postgres:/var/lib/postgresql/data \
  -p 5432:5432 \
  -d \
  -e POSTGRES_PASSWORD="" \
  -e POSTGRES_USER="root" \
  -e POSTGRES_HOST_AUTH_METHOD="trust" \
  postgres:latest

• Setup Environment Variables with export DATABASE_USER="root" DATABASE_PASSWORD="" DATABASE_HOST="127.0.0.1"
• Install dependencies with mix deps.get
• Create and migrate your database with mix ecto.setup
• Install Node.js dependencies with npm install --prefix assets
• Start Phoenix endpoint with mix phx.server

Now you can visit localhost:4000 from your browser.
